CHAPTER 1: BIRTHDAY

 

One young man lived quietly on the outskirts of the agricultural district in the northeastern part of Lincoln kingdom.

The name of the young man is Tino, while there are a lot of blond hair and brown hair in this country, he’s a middle-sized villager with an unusual raven-black hair and dark eyes.

Today I spent the day working in the field of the garden and came back home in the evening.

「!I’m home!, Father」

Tino set his hands together before a dagger displayed on a shelf at the corner of the room.

That dagger was Tino’s father’s favorite item.

Tino’s father died of illness when Tino was 12 years old, since then he has lived alone in this place for 12 years.

As usual he washed off the dirty on his body by farm working in the bathroom and started preparing dinner.

Generally in this world only wealthy families have baths at home,because l was a bath lover and self-confident on the work that I have diligently  made after father dies.

「 Let’s eat 」 (Itadaki masu)

 
Tino, which has completed to cook his dishes starts eating alone silently, the dish is a corn soup with bread and a salad of vegetables which were harvested today.

「Thanks for the delicious meal 」(Gochisousama deshi ta)

When he thought on tied up the tableware and went to sleep, Tino suddenly noticed something.

「 Oh!, Today was my birthday 」

Today is Tino’s 25th birthday.

「 I have to check my status …… 」

So Tino took out a card from the drawer and drip a drop of his blood on the card.

If in this world exists magic, there also exist monsters such as demons too.

Status exists for each human being and can be confirmed by the appraisal skill or status card which is provided by the country when a child is born.

In this world human beings have a variety of skills.

Other than the special skill which is called unique skill can be mostly acquired with training and the like, but as for acquisition method of unique skill is unknown, except when one was born.

Skills are very important in regard to keep on living, It is a matter of course to know one’s skills.

Even though weak demons appear around once in a while, this village was peaceful, Tino had been told by his father that status verification could be used once a year, so he was told to check the status card on his birthday.

Tino’s status were displayed on the card with letters and numbers.

No matter how many times I look at it, the two characters for eternal youth (“不老“) are written on the card.

「 …………why? 」

Tino was dumbfounded  for a while without being able to tell what happened.
